Pete Hodkinson
Pete Hodkinson is the President of the New Zealand Union of Students’ Associations, representing students from Tertiary Education Institutions across NZ.
Elected to the USU Students’ Association at Unitec in 2009, he spent three years on their Executive, including two years as President. He served for one year on the board of directors for Student Job Search NZ during 2011 and in 2013 Pete returns to the board. He is the first ITP President in history to be elected to the national Presidency of NZUSA. Pete is also a co-opted member of the University South Pacific Students’ Association Council, the Deputy Chairman of the Pacific Students’ Association and a Steering Committee Member of the Commonwealth Students’ Association. In 2009 he finished a Diploma in Sports and Fitness Education at Unitec and has subsequently completed courses in Governance, Strategy and Finance through the NZ Institute of Directors as well as a Certificate in Company Direction. In 2011, Pete was a member of the inaugural Auckland Social Policy Forum. Pete is an Ambassador for the White Ribbon Campaign against violence towards women and has sat on the Panel as a judge for the Ako Aotearoa Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards in 2012 and 2013.
