Ambassadors in Australia
Rebecca Wardell
Rebecca is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Philosophy (Hons) at the Australian National University. She hopes to go onto postgraduate study in medicine and work in public health.
By travelling the world, including spending a year at an American > Boarding School and attending science forums in Australia, London and Israel, Rebecca gained an appreciation of the diversity and disparity that exists in education and vocational outlooks, even in first world countries.
Upon transitioning to University, Rebecca has sought to attempt to rectify injustices within her own community by being a mentor to Indigenous youths through the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME). This was an extremely rewarding experience, as in a single day you could see how positive reinforcement and encouragement empower youths to become more confident and believe in > themselves. Whilst at University, Rebecca has also endeavoured to enhance her leadership and organisational skills by being an active member of > the Residential Services Committee, the first year management committee for her course, as well as undertaking an internship in Biochemistry.
