Plans and goals for work programmes between the three global events in the 2013-2017 series will be set by each event in turn. They will include work in three types of programmes:

1. Research Programme

A programme of research that will help us to understand better the causes and effects of unequal participation and success in post-secondary education in different geographical, political, economic and historical contexts and the most effective ways to address to address them so that we can achieve real and lasting  change.

2. Development Programme

A programme of collaboration and co-operation to test and refine methods and approaches for addressing particular issues and obstacles to wider participation and success.

3. Dissemination Programme

A programme to share what we have learned to improve policy and practice and to guide the implementation of effective policies, strategies and initiatives.

Additional programs may be established, as each global event determines.

In addition, the period between congresses will incorporate a planning process for the next global event. This will comprise discussions and activities with partner organisations that will consider such things as:

  • The outcomes of the preceding congress and their implications for achieving our goals
  • Gaps in our investigations and knowledge and how we should fill them
  • The nature of emerging issues with potential to affect our work
  • The resources available to support our work
  • How the student voice can best be integrated into our work
  • Who else do we want to bring into our work that has so far not been included
  • Any other relevant issues that arise from time to time.

Partner organisations may host their own events to assist in this process during this period.
