We are now

THE GAPS INITIATIVE!!

We aim to make a tangible impact on rates of participation and success in post-secondary pathways throughout the developing and developed world, where youth and adults are held back by poverty, birth and other economic and social circumstances.

The World Congress on Access to Post-secondary Education will soon be renamed The GAPS Initiative - Global Access to Post-secondary Education.

One of the aims of this change is to highlight our goal to close gaps in participation and success in education worldwide.

We will continue to use the term 'world congress' to refer to the major global events we hold every two years (2013, 2015, 2017).

At our first world congress in Montreal, Canada in 2013 we learned about the challenges to wider access and success post-secondary education worldwide. We also shared many ideas about how these can be removed and some of our experiences so far. We made new connections and heard useful ideas and stories from many parts of the world.

We are now planning our next world congress, to be held at Sunway University in Malaysia in October 2015. A call for proposals and draft program will be available during October 2014. Learn more about Malaysia and Sunway University the hosts for our congress in 2015.
