Ambassadors in Morocco

Mohammed Taweh

My high school years were very tough but with hard work I made it through. I struggled a lot in my studies. The standardized procedure of education never interested me. I was an excellent  student throughout my high school life. Extra-curricular activities like sports, drawing, crafts,  reading  and rendering community services etc. were my favorite things.

After completion of high school, I wanted to become an Aircraft Engineer since I was very good at Math and Physics. My father decided to send me to China for studies but unfortunately he lost his first job. I was left with no option but to apply for an international scholarship through the Ministry of Education in Liberia. Luckily for me, I got a scholarship and it was for Morocco. I hesitated to go but with the help of my beloved mother who encouraged me, I came.  Like every other  Anglophone student, I was to do a one year French language study. I completed the one year study and got the 2nd highest mark among many students from over  30 English speaking countries in  Africa and around the world.

Now it was time to start university. I didn’t know what to do as a career since I was let down from doing what I wanted to do in Liberia. But due to my high performance in the French language exams, I choose General Medicine and was successful to get it. As an Anglophone student, who have done all my studies in English and only did a year of the French language I started to do my university studies in French. But as God could have it and with my hard work I am moving smoothly on each year.

During my second year of study in Morocco, I started to get involved in volunteer youth works through a friend from Canada and created lots of contacts. This made attend series of international youth conferences and therefore exposed me to new culture and religious backgrounds . I also got to know many new friends who have been having a positive impact in my life. Since my involvement into volunteer youth work, I have held many important positions.

Presently I am even more committed to fighting for the right and freedom  of young people than I have been all alone and I am keen to move alone this route in the future.
